Star Wars: Solo Full Trailer - 8 Major Plot Reveals
2. A Different Kind Of Han Solo
There were doubts about Alden Ehrenreich before this trailer, and there remain some doubts after it. That's understandable, really, because he's stepping into the shoes of one of Star Wars' most iconic characters who, until now, has only been played by one of cinema's most iconic stars.
There are glimpses of the 'classic' Han in there though: certainly when he has that faltering, blustering smile in the scene with Qi'ra, and his scene with Chewie and Beckett. It's obviously what they're aiming for with that "we're fine" line too, though that doesn't quite play right.
However, there is more reason than Ehrenreich's ability for it not being the scoundrel we all know and love. This movie is charting six years of his life and his development into that time, seeing how he gets the name Han Solo - and what's really meant by that is how he gets his infamous reputation. So across the movie we're going to see a different kind of Han, one who isn't just younger but is also far less cocksure and arrogant, before getting closer to the real deal by the end.
