This would be the very definition of inspired casting. Waltz certainly has a shtick which, like it or loathe it, could be put to great use with this character. His films with Tarantino have shown him to be an engrossing combination of sinister, threatening, and strangely likeable, not least his murderous, bilingual turn in Inglourious Basterds. If he brought those energies to the role of Fett it would be at the very least memorable. He may not be suited to the playing strong and silent - Waltzs best characters enjoy talking at length, and are rarely willing to stay in the background - but theres no reason the writers should stick rigidly to whats gone before. Waltz has primarily excelled at playing confident characters who can handle themselves, and make their own way in the world - perfect for a renegade bounty hunter. If the producers want Fett to make a lasting impact on screen, and once again outshine his more regularly featured co-stars, then Waltz might just be the man they should turn to.
