The single most fan-baiting shot in the entire Entertainment Weekly gallery apparently captures the unmistakable figure of Darth Vader in the background of one of the stormtrooper action shots. That has led to a lot of rumour-mongering that Kylo Ren succeeds in resurrecting the Dark Lord and "awakening the Force" as a result. That would certainly fit the suggestion that Kylo Ren's destiny is to "bring balance to the Force" by bringing back a Sith powerful enough to balance Luke Skywalker. And it would also fit the idea that Disney will do anything nostalgic enough to guarantee a multi-billion return on the movie's budget, which that sort of twist definitely would. Rating: 1/10 Kylo Ren's apparent quest to collect Sith and Jedi artefacts could well be a means to raise Vader from death (though it would take some artistic rewriting of the canon), but it would be silly to suggest that Vader will be up and about in active duty. Even Voldemort needed four films to get a real body. It's more likely that the familiar helmet did once belong to Vader but is now being worn by Kylo Ren in homage to his idol. Unless Abrams really is keying up one of the biggest twists in cinematic history. Which of these rumours and theories are you most drawn to? Share your favourites below in the comments thread.
