Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10 Major Plot Theories You Need To Know
2. Han Knows Something About Rey's Origin
Lending weight to the idea of Rey being Luke's daughter who was stashed far away, there's a very leading moment in Maz Kanata's Takodana castle, that you might have brushed off as comic relief. Just after both Rey and Finn have left the table as the latter attempts to flee the system, Maz immediately enquires as to who "the girl" is to Han, and the scene cuts. If this was intended to be humourous in some sort of "Ohh there's Han with another girl" kinda stuff, it doesn't land that way, and instead feels like Solo knows something about who Rey really is. If the Luke theory is true, could he also have known and participated in the act of getting her to Jakku? Harrison Ford isn't returning for another full film, but what if a cockpit shot was already filmed, showing him as the pilot flying away from a young Rey? Whatever the case, the person Rey gets left with - as we see in the flashback - is Unkar Plutt, an overweight trader who runs in similar circles to Han. Plutt could've easily owed him a favour, and could've been told to take care of Rey until an undisclosed time, prompting him to put her to work as a scavenger.
