10. A New Alien

Since very early on in Episode VII's production (long before it earned The Force Awakens subtitle) there's been rumours that the plot would centre around Anakin's old lightsaber, which Luke lost in his duel with Vader in The Empire Strikes Back. Showing said lightsaber being passed between two individuals, the teaser all but confirms that it'll play a major part in the story (and no doubt see some more action). But that's not all it reveals. It's not clear who the person receiving the saber is (although the voiceover's timing hints it may be Leia), but, if you're quick, you can spot the face of the giver in the very top right of the frame. It's some sort of alien (or possibly a mask, although the orange skin suggests the former), with a snub snout and large, wide eyes. This could be the first glimpse of Rose, the character rumoured to be played by Lupita Nyong'o, but at the very least it's the introduction of a new species to the Star Wars galaxy.
