Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10 Things We Need To See In The Next Trailer
2. More Fan-Pleasing Moments
The teasers have done a very good job of building excitement for this new film, and a huge part of that it they've managed to get die-hard Star Wars fans on-board.; The ones still scarred by the prequels, who'd given up on ever having a new Star Wars movie in cinemas, and were making do with watching the low-quality version of the originals on DVD to avoid the massacre that came with each revised edition.
This didn't come from the new characters, at least not wholly, but from the true iconic moments, the ones that felt like Star Wars. The Millenium Falcon flying through the air, accompanied by John Williams' swooping score; the pan across a desert planet, with a destroyed Super Star Destroyer; the brief glimpse of Darth Vader's broken helmet; Luke's lightsaber.
Abrams and Lucasfilm have to look forward, but they cannot ignore the past. These moments are probably the best ones to include in a trailer, because they guarantee excitement without spoiling newer elements. A throwback to a classic line, a shot of Han and Chewie piloting the Falcon, the aforementioned lightsaber shot. None of this spoils the film, but does ramp up anticipation even more, if that's at all possible at this stage.
