This film had an incredible list of characters, quite possibly the best set from any Star Wars film to date. The golden oldies performed more than admirably and the young guns stepped up to the mark and completely delivered, but the entire show was stolen by a little ball of metal. All hail, BB-8. He is Disney's merchandise dream, and that was almost slightly worrying. Would he just be a cutesy droid designed to keep the kids entertained and drive the rest of us insane? The danger was there, but he was the absolute opposite. He was completely hilarious throughout, with an incredible amount of emotion for a soulless little shell. The loudest laugh of the night came when he flicked out his lighter as a thumbs up to Rey and Finn. It's a sequence that I'm sure will be gif'd beyond belief once the film makes its way to cyberspace. Until then, just hold onto the fact that BB-8 WAS as adorable as you'd hoped.
