Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 30 Easter Eggs & References You Need To See

28. Rey€™s X-Wing Pilot Doll

When we first meet Rey - just after BB-8 has basically stolen the entire movie and announced himself as a carefully conceived clone of R2-D2 - we get a shot inside the belly of her home (a downed At-At). Aside from the idea of her living in a "creature's" guts being a reference back to that iconic tauntaun sequence, there's also a more blatant nod. As the camera pans around her Wall-E like living area, it shows a shelf with what appears to be a home-made doll, which is dressed very obviously in an orange and white homage to an x-wing pilot jumpsuit. Is that her way of expressing her unconscious pining for her father? Those flight suits, incidentally, do reappear within the Resistance forces (though let's not pick too hard at why their is even a Resistance called the Resistance anyway, when the baddies aren't in power).
