6. Rey Feels The Power Of The Dark Side

It's made clear in Star Wars: The Force Awakens that Rey is on the path to becoming a very powerful Jedi, and while Kylo Ren attempts to seduce her to the Dark Side with the promise of training her in the ways of the Force, the movie never actually delves into the possibility of her being even remotely tempted into turning her back on the Light. Well, it turns out that one pivotal moment in the movie could have changed everything. Things get particularly interesting when the script reveals: "She could kill him -- right now, with ONE VICIOUS STRIKE! But she stops. Realizing she stands on a greater edge than even the cliff - the edge of the dark side." It's at that moment the ground splits open, and it actually makes sense that Rey acting on her impulses here and striking Ren down in vengeance could have led her down a much darker path. The script also details the extent of Kylo's injury (Rey leaves "a large burn/scar slashed across his face"), and so also bring to an end theories that she cut off his hand. Even on repeat viewings it appeared as if that might have been the case, but as there's no mention of it in the script, that obviously didn't happen. We do however now know that Kylo will be sporting a permanent scar across his face when we next see him!
