Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 6 Reasons Mark Hamill Could Ruin It

4. He Prefers Working As A Voice Actor

Hamill has mainly made his living since the original Star Wars trilogy working as a voice actor, lending his varied tones to everything from English dubs of Japanese anime to cameo appearances on The Simpsons and Family Guy. His most notable voice work, however, has been as The Joker. He first took on the role of Batman€™s archenemy in the 1992 animated series after the producer€™s first choice Tim Curry dropped out. His dynamic use of laughter to express the Joker's mood brought him critical acclaim and multiple awards, putting him in high demand with other cartoon makers on the hunt for a villainous voice. It€™s not only DC that have taken advantage of Hamill€™s talents behind a microphone, either. Mortal enemies Marvel have also made use of him over the years, getting him on board to voice The Hobgoblin in the 1990s Spider-Man animated series, as well as the Gargoyle in the cartoon version of The Incredible Hulk, Maximus in Fantastic Four, and Klaw in Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. The question is, will Hamill be out of his comfort zone when he drops the mic and picks up a light sabre instead? The answer is yes, probably, given that he has openly admitted that he finds himself limited in live-action:
"I love voice-over animation because people can't see you. You make these choices that you would never do if you were doing a live-action role."
