Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 6 Theories About Andy Serkis' Supreme Leader Snoke
3. A Force-User Who Is Neither Jedi Nor Sith
Much more alluring is the possibility that Snoke is an unaffiliated force user. His voice over in the teaser indicates that he has either been told about or has personally felt something awakening in the Force. If he has sensed it himself (which is probable), then Snoke appears to know a very great deal about the dark and light sides of the Force. What alien race is there in the Star Wars universe that can feel both sides of the Force and are experts on the histories of the Jedi Order and the Sith? The Whills. These immortal, force-using experts were the creation of George Lucas, originally intended to be the narrators of the saga of the galaxy. Lucas cut them from the script of A New Hope, but the Whills were always meant to be a part of the Star Wars movies. A reference to them was even cut from Revenge Of The Sith. Knowing what a massive fan The Force Awakens director J. J. Abrams is, it's not hard to imagine that, at long last, one of the most interesting pieces of Star Wars lore could be getting their first onscreen appearance. That possibility is genuinely exciting.
