Plot details are, naturally given the film is still some way away and Abrams has a penchant for not giving too much away, thin on the ground. That may be a good thing, as its a fault of too many trailers nowadays to they spoil large portions of the film, and theres something to be said of heading into a film without too much prior knowledge of whats going to happen. But still, it's something fans really want to know. It is known that Finn will start as a Stormtrooper, but something will happen to lead to him encountering and joining forces with Rey, and that Poe Dameron is on a mission from Leia. Nothing has been shown yet, however, that gives us more than these very basic outlines. Han Solo is said to have a large part in the film, while on the other hand Luke is reported to have surprisingly little screen time, though may well be the driving force (pun not intended) behind the plot; much may hinge on the discovery of his old lightsaber, setting up a larger role for him in the following episodes. Whatever the case, it's likely well discover more about the plot and the characters as we edge closer to December 18, with events like San Diego Comic-Con providing opportunity to release such details.
