9. BB-8 In The X-Wing (On An Ice Planet)

BB-8 has been the star of the marketing campaign so far, whirring his way into our hearts in much the same vein of another heroic astromech droid. He's has plenty to do here as well, appearing with Rey on Jakku, but the big reveal is his being in an X-Wing with Poe Dameron. This had already been revealed by a Lego set (those pesky toys are always spoiling things), but it's nice to see it confirmed with some footage, and what's new is just where the action takes place. It's part of what's clearly going to be a rather awesome battle sequence between the X-Wings and the TIE Fighters, all set on some sort of ice planet. Hoth, or somewhere new? One final point on BB-8, and it's to do with how he sounds. They've tweaked it a bit in trailer, which is presumably how it's going to sound in the actual film - less like Artoo, more of a high-pitched sci-fi noise. Oh, and this trailer also confirmed that the Sphero toy will be on my Christmas list this year, just in case there was any doubt (there really wasn't).
