Star Wars: The High Republic - Everything We Know So Far
1. What Does The Future Hold For The High Republic?
Whilst it may seem redundant to speculate of the future of a series which is not even on shelves at this point, there are a number of things we can guess at, speculate upon, and discuss our collective wishes for (this is the internet, after all).
Firstly, we already know that the High Republic will be delivered to us in phases, with phase one arriving in August 2020.
The titles will continue to roll out in this way and we know that there are no current plans to expand into TV or gaming.
However, depending on its reception, and given the modern day power of the fanbase to affect change (cough *Sonic* cough), an overtly negative response could push the creative teams into a radical rethink of their forward trajectory, much in the same way Warner Bros. have with the DC Universe movies.
Finally, turning to fan speculation and the nature of the timeline itself, although it has been said that the High Republic will not overlap with existing properties, early artwork has hinted at the introduction of Yoda (and Yaddle?) at some point.
The timeline adds up, so we'll just have to see for ourselves when Star Wars: The High Republic debuts this August.
