8. Luke & Rey Return To Base
Rey persuades Luke to come back and join the good fight. The film really isn't going to keep him shacked up on that island is it?
He takes his lightsaber and hooks it on his belt. The pair head back to the Resistance base on D'Qar, and Luke greets Leia, C-3PO and R2-D2. Many fanboy tears of joy are shed.
Finn is on the mend, perhaps being held in a bacta tank. Poe and the rest of the fighters are discussing their next move. Luke's arrival sends waves through the base, giving the entire Resistance a sense of genuine hope.
Luke and Leia discuss Kylo Ren, with Luke apologizing to his sister for the path her son chose - Luke feels responsible, and he wants to try and redeem himself.
Rey feels like she can't talk to Luke after his refusal to train her, widening the rift between them that will set the stage for future events.
