13. Aftab Ackbar

One of the more controversial character deaths in The Last Jedi was that of Admiral Ackbar (Tim Rose), who is killed during Kylo Ren's early strike against Leia after getting just a few brief moments of screen time.

It was a depressing end for a beloved Star Wars character, though eagle-eyed fans will be relieved to learn that his son, Aftab Ackbar, can be briefly seen during the final Resistance meeting before they head out to fight the Final Order.

If you're not familiar with Aftab, he was first introduced in the tie-in comic Star Wars: Allegiance #2, which was released back in October.

Given that we only see a single Mon Calamari character in The Rise of Skywalker and that character looks exactly like Aftab in the comic, it's clearly supposed to be him even if he's never actually identified by name in the movie.
