24. General Leia Deleted Scenes

For all of the movie's dubious creative decisions, Abrams and co. deserve credit for doing a surprisingly cohesive job of integrating General Leia (Carrie Fisher) into the story, despite Carrie Fisher passing away some three years before the movie was released.

Through a combination of low lighting, body doubles, and clever editing, Leia's presence in the film mostly passes muster. But an early scene between Leia and Rey actually provides some insight into how unused takes from prior films were worked into the story.

When Leia tells Rey, "Never underestimate a droid," this is actually part of a deleted scene from The Force Awakens (below) where Leia is talking to a Resistance officer.

With the help of CGI, Rey has been edited into the scene in place of the officer, and the results are pretty damn seamless. Impressive.
