3. Star Wars Special Edition Trailer #1 (1996)

It practically dares you to return to the movie theaters to experience Star Wars "again for the first time." Perfectly edited, it nearly makes you want to leap out of your seat with excitement. It combines the thrilling imagery and classic lines in a fun, breezy way (Vader's "It'll be a day long remembered" line is funny here). The editors were having a blast when they cut this one. It's easily the best trailer for any film in the previous two trilogies. A masterpiece of trailer editing. 2. The Force Awakens Trailer #2 (2015)

Abrams' The Force Awakens is powerful thanks to a very dramatic reworking of The Force Theme and some startling images. There are a lot of threads running through this one - maybe too much - but that incredible shot of the Millennium Falcon soaring through hyperspace makes up for it all. And the winner?
