Star Wars VII: Essential Characters And Who Should Play Them – PART II

3. Ron Perlman - Booster Terrik

Who: Anytime you hear reference of a Star Wars character being from Corellia, chances are they have a cowboy style about them. Some notable characters include Han Solo, Dash Rendar and Corran Horn. Many of the most beloved characters from the Star Wars universe are Corellian with the planet itself being one of the most well-known planets to never make an on screen appearance. I would almost guarantee we see this planet in a future film. All of that being said, Booster Terrik is a sort of smuggler king pin from the planet of Corellia. There€™s something about this planet and its ability to produce big time smugglers! Terrik started out as an honest businessman that eventually went underground with his work during the days of the Clone Wars. Although Terrik was originally introduced in novel format, much of his early years were made clear in comic book form. If you think Han Solo€™s ship the Millennium Falcon is pretty cool, Booster has his very own Star Destroyer! Booster could be an important character in a future movie adaptation not because of his smuggler backstory but because he is the father of an important female character named Mirax that goes onto marry Jedi Corran Horn (follow?). It's possible that both Corran and Mirax could play important roles in the future. Actor: I remember the first time I noticed Ron Perlman in a film. He was sniper Koulikov with the busted out teeth in the film Enemy at the Gates. Although I mostly remembered him for getting sniped mid-air, I remember immediately taking a liking to the character he portrayed. Since Enemy at the Gates, and a number of movies even before then, Perlman has been in a number of iconic roles. The reason I see Perlman as Booster Terrik is mostly because of his current role as Clay Morrow on Sons of Anarchy. Much like Terrik, Clay is the leader of an edgy business that treads on the lines of the law. Their difference though is that Terrik isn€™t a selfish murderer like Clay and Terrik€™s family will always come first. Perlman is no stranger to fantasy worlds with his role as Hellboy and even some voice work on the Star Wars: Clone Wars in 2009. Bottom line is that I don€™t only feel that Perlman could play the role, I think that he could look the part even better. He deserves a spot as a Corellian cowboy.
