Star Wars: What Happened To Count Dooku BEFORE He Was A Sith
6. Life As A Youngling
Dooku became a part of Hawkbat Clan, one of many clans which Jedi initiates are sorted into when they arrive at the Temple (similar to Hogwarts' Houses). This clan also included younglings Zang Arraira, Arath Tarrex, and Sifo-Dyas, led by Master Tera Sinube.
Dooku worked hard to achieve the best results in the clan, but still remain within the rules of his teachers. Therefore, Dooku was opposed to befriending the other younglings and his talents led to him clashing with Arath, who was jealous of his abilities and would call him 'His Excellency'. However, he was friends with Sifo-Dyas, travelling with him, Grand Master Yoda and Sinube to Serenno for the galactic festival being held there.
At the festival Dooku was reunited with his sister Jenza. The two ended up buried under the rubble after a ground quake caused the Great Assembly to collapse on them. After being freed from the rubble by the Jedi Masters, Dooku's father furiously confronted Yoda saying he never wished to see his son again.
After this, Dooku asked Yoda about how he ended up being a part of the Jedi Order. Yoda explained how his father had contacted the Jedi, and how he abandoned him, placing him at risk. Dooku would still communicate with his sister.
Dooku and Sifo-Dyas also visited the Bogan Collection, a part of the Jedi Archives holding dark side artefacts. They did this after Sifo-Dyas discovered the journal of an expelled Jedi, Klias Teradine. Dooku helped Sifo-Dyas get into the vault and used sand levitation to get past the magnetic lock so as to view the artefacts contained within it.
