Steve Zahn also making A PERFECT GETAWAY

Back in January we told you that Timothy Olyphant had been cast in A Perfect Getaway, a new project from writer/director David Twohy (Pitch Black, The Chronicles of Riddick) centering around a newlywed couple who stumble across two strange and deadly hitchhikers. I suggested that Olyphant would probably play one of the villains, something which was almost a no-brainer and has been confirmed today by The Hollywood Reporter. The trades also say Steve Zahn has joined the cast, as one half of the newlywed couple. His wife in the movie, and the other hitchhiker villain has yet to be cast. I didn't think much of Zahn until Rescue Dawn last year where he blew me away actually. More of that intensity here please. Twohy was also the guy who came up with the screenplay for the Harrison Ford/Tommy Lee Jones awesome chase-thriller The Fugitive, so he's capable of writing an interesting situation thriller like this. I'm hopeful, though Olyphant bored the shit out of me in 2007. Production begins March 31st in Hawaii and Puerto Rico for Relativity Media and MGM.
