Steven Spielberg: EVERY Movie Ranked Worst To Best

30. War Of The Worlds (2005)

ET The Extra Terrestrial
Paramount Pictures

War of the Worlds isn't quite as bad as detractors would have you believe, but it's still an underwhelming adaptation of H. G. Wells' classic novel.

There are some decent moments of action, but that's about it. With the action becoming stale rather quickly and the plot slowing to a painful slog by its final act, the movie is wildly inconsistent, and, given its epic potential, a major let-down.

The fact that it was made by Steven Spielberg, a proven maestro of the sci-fi genre, makes War of the Worlds hurt even more.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Every great film should seem new every time you see it. Be excellent to each other.
