This will be the first comic book movie ever to focus on a group of villains. Granted, they're a group of villains put together by the government to do good and, as a result, audiences will probably be expected to root for them, but it's still a very unique take on the comic book movie genre. While it has long been demanded by fans that a villain-focused movie should be made, the fact is that nobody currently knows if it will actually work as a concept and it's intriguing to imagine exactly how the finished product will be received. The success of this movie will no doubt go some way to determining whether or not it's actually worthwhile for Sony and Marvel to release the Sinister Six movie a few months later and whether or not the likes of a Marvel Cinematic Universe version of the Masters of Evil are worth making a film around.
