Suicide Squad: 10 Lessons It Can Learn From Assault On Arkham

1. A Little Batman Goes A Long Way

If Joker should be used sparingly, then the same rules ought to apply to Batman. We know he€™s in the film, although in what capacity isn€™t clear. It may just be a cameo where he arrests Joker in a flashback, and for the film€™s sake, that sort of minimal involvement would be great. The way Batman was used in Assault On Arkham was phenomenal. We saw everything through the eyes of criminals and it was engrossing to see how the mere thought of him terrified them despite barely actually showing up in person. Moreover, it becomes a little weird to see him since, despite being a hero, Batman is actively trying to stop the characters we end up caring about, making us somehow root against him. Suicide Squad should absolute play up the looming presence of Batman, but this is a case where the myth is sometimes better than the real thing. This way, the film could feel integrated into the DCEU without having it hijacked by such a massive character. Have you seen Assault On Arkham? What else do you think Suicide Squad should take away from that film? Let us know in the comments.
