2. The Joker Is Revealed To Be Jason Todd
The Rumour: The long-speculated truth that Suicide Squad's Joker is actually Jason Todd aka the second Robin, who was kidnapped by the original Joker and tortured to the point of insanity. Batman then kills The Joker and Todd takes his place as Joker 2.0. This would all be revealed in a flashback.
How Much We Believed It: From the Joker's "damaged" forehead tattoo to Batman's increasingly violent methods as shown in Batman v Superman and, of course, the vandalised Robin suit shown off in that movie, it actually made a surprising amount of sense and would've been a clever way to reinvent The Joker and differentiate him from Heath Ledger's. David Ayer himself denied it, but of course he would. 8/10
The Truth: There's no inference, direct or otherwise, to this in the final movie, though that doesn't mean it won't be revealed in Batman's upcoming solo movie, where he's believed to be taking on The Joker. Wait and see.
