Suicide Squad 2: 10 Things It Must Do Better Than The Original
9. Make Better Use Of The Joker And Harley Quinn
The Joker and Harley Quinn's toxic love story was one of the best things about Suicide Squad, hands down, but it felt as though the film was merely dipping its toes into the toxic vat that is their relationship.
As compellingly corrosive as their scenes were, it felt like a distraction from the overarching story, as though David Ayer included Gotham City's infamous Clown Prince of Crime in the movie simply because he could.
The Suicide Squad sequel must do two things regarding Margot Robbie and Jared Leto's demented duo - give the characters more screen time, and hand them a stronger narrative with a tighter connection to the overarching plot.
Presumably the more screentime thing won't be a problem because DC and Warner Bros seem to be obsessed with this pair at the moment.
In addition to their inevitable roles in Suicide Squad 2, Mister J and Harley are set to share the screen in Gotham City Sirens and their own spinoff movie. And then there's that Joker origin film that Leto won't be a part of.
