Suicide Squad 2: 10 Things That Will Make It Awesome
9. New Squad Members
The end of Suicide Squad saw Diablo being killed off, and Harley Quinn escaping jail with The Joker. This means that Task Force X is recruiting, and the door is wide open for DC to bring us a couple of new faces in the sequel. If done right, this will keep the franchise fresh and help Suicide Squad 2 explore new character dynamics and relationships, rather than re-treading existing ones.
But it has to be done right - new additions can't be too similar to the surviving members of the squad, but they also can't be so powerful that it would be illogical for Waller to be able to capture and control them.
The obvious choice is to add someone who can fill the super-powered void left by Diablo. Mr Freeze would be the obvious link, with his icy powers replacing the fire nicely. Poison Ivy could also work well, providing enough mainstream familiarity for DC to capitalize on while filling the female space left vacant by Harley. Or they could go more left-field with someone like Lazara or Clayface.
