2. It's Not As Good As The Trailers

The plus side of having great trailers is that people get excited about seeing the movie. That's a trailer doing its job. The downside, if there is one, is that expectations can be elevated beyond a point the film can reach.

DC Films felt this sting once before with Man of Steel and it's happening again with Suicide Squad. The "Bohemian Rhapsody" trailer set the world on fire by promising a film so fresh, new, and full of energy. People who normally skip superhero films were actually talking about the trailer and looking forward to the film.

Suicide Squad does not fully live up to that trailer or the ones that followed. It is fun, but not as fun as the those trailers suggest. It is not quite as upbeat or energetic. There will probably be some general audience members who feel a little underwhelmed even if most moviegoers feel that Suicide Squad is close enough to what they were sold.
