Croc is an unknown factor at this point; we haven't even heard him talk yet, nor how he really interacts with the other characters - apart from a glimpse of a tussle between him and Katana from the trailer - and it's harder to know where he fits in the team and whether he has any good chemistry with the others. Although that's arguably the situation with several other characters, we understand the stock roles they fill. Flag is team leader; Katana is his no. 2; Deadshot will probably be de facto spokesman for the villainous element in the team and butt heads with Flag; Harley is the female lead/wildcard; Boomerang is the comedy relief who serves to annoy the others; El Diablo looks like he'll be the sensitive, misunderstood one; Slipknot is the cannon fodder... This leaves Croc as the bruising, Hulk-element on the team. And though he looks formidable, he's certainly expendable. The filmmakers may well have just flipped a coin to decide if he lives or dies. It all depends on how that dust-up with Katana ends. As it stands, it's the biggest signpost that Croc will be the character to go full Maggott-from-The-Dirty-Dozen, i.e. lose his sh*t and have to be put down for the sake of the team and the mission.
