Suicide Squad Reviews: 10 Positives For Angry DC Movie Fans
4. It's "For The Fans"
It might now seem like something of a cliche for a director to rail against critics and say that their film is for the fans and not for a critical audience (it's an awful, reductive thing to say, to be honest and it's terrible that David Ayer has had to resort to it), BUT Suicide Squad does seem to have fan service front and centre.
According to reviews, there are lots of Easter Eggs (which you'll see broken down on this very site soon), it's already very clear that the characters are very close to the source, and the whole thing seems squarely aimed at the same people who enjoyed (or at least found some positives in) Batman v Superman).
If that's you, you might well be in the minority who enjoy it.
