Suicide Squad Reviews: 14 Early Reactions You Need To See
10. It's A Triumphant Middle Finger To The Genre
Before it even came out, there was a lot of talk about Suicide Squad being the answer to superhero movie fatigue (as if it even exists), and there do seem to be some who say that it's succeeded on that agenda. Here's what USA Today had to say about it:
"Compared to its ilk, Suicide Squad is an excellently quirky, proudly raised middle finger to the staid superhero-movie establishment."
Maybe it's just too much for the stick in the muds?
And there does seem to be some acknowledgement that it tries to do something new and different, particularly in comparison to Batman v Superman:
"While it's a bright, grimy, candy-colored mess, at least Suicide Squad is here to lighten up the place, break a few vases, take a few shots, and have some fun."
