It’s a bird… it’s a plane… it’s another big-screen incarnation of Superman!

As reported by Deadline, Warner Bros. is pushing forward with a rebooted silver screen take on the Man of Steel. Not just that, but author Ta-Nehisi Coates – who is also attached to Black Panther director Ryan Coogler’s Wrong Answer – has been tasked with penning this new Superman offering.

J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot banner will be developing this to-be-titled picture, with Hannah Minghella serving as producer on the project. This Man of Tomorrow effort is part of the 2019 deal that Abrams penned with WarnerMedia, with him already at work on a Justice League Dark movie and TV series.

Zero plot details are known on this new Superman film at this early juncture, but one piece of important information is that Henry Cavill will not be suiting up and reprising the Kal-El role he’s played in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman and Justice League.

Cavill's Superman will be seen on HBO Max next month in Zack Snyder's Justice League - Snyder's mammoth four-hour take on the 2017 movie - and it would appear that that could well be the final outing for Cavill's take on the iconic Kryptonian. Elsewhere, Tyler Hoechlin's impressive Arrowverse spin on the character has just seen the premiere of his Superman & Lois series on The CW.
