Sweeney Todd in trouble?
You might have heard the news in the press last week that Johnny Depp's daughter is seriously ill in hospital. The knock-on effect of this is that the actor has had to leave the production of Sweeney Todd. It's not yet known at this time whether his role will be re-cast in the Tim Burton movie, but it could well be that the film is shelved for some time until his daughter gets out of hospital....but who knows how long that will be? Now this story does originate in the British tabloid press which I usually avoid reporting from, but we all know Depp has refused to leave his daughter's side since she was omitted into hospital in February, so it all seems to make sense. I really can't see Burton re-casting role, as we all know he feels confident in using Johnny Depp and will cast him in just about every movie he makes. HAVING SAID THAT, delays in a film cost the studio's a HUGE amount of money for every day of non-filming, so the next move is either to re-cast or scrap the flick all together. It is a shame because I was really looking forward to seeing Depp in this, but of there are far more important things in life. Johnny Depp certainly has his priorities in the right place and we don't need to congratulate him for that, it's what any good parent would do. source - filmstalker, slash film, contact music, daily mirror
