Sweeney Todd Trailer Description?

The success of Sweeney Todd will probably depend on which Tim Burton turns up to direct. Will we get the whimsical, lovable version that's crafted such gems as Big Fish and Edward Scissorhands or the studio gun for hire who phones it in... Planet of the Apes I'm looking at you! Any time Burton teams with Johnny Depp it's usually worth a watch, they've clicked perfectly in everything bar Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Steve over at Collider sent over a link to a description of the Sweeney Todd, here's a taster from their scooper:

"The trailer opens with the usual studio logos, but quickly transforms the Warner Bros. logo into the streets of London. There is some great eerie music in the beginning, as the narrator explains that a barber named Benjamin Barker (Depp) had everything he could ever want (wife, kids, etc.) until some corrupt government officials arrest him and €œtake everything he€™s ever loved.€ Barker returns to London to find wife and kid dead, changes his name to Sweeney Todd, and decides to use his profession to exact revenge on those that wronged him."

There's more detail if you follow the link. It certainly sounds like a cool trailer, and I think if Burton knocks this out of the park he could have an awards magnet on his hands. Musicals don't usually appeal to me but I'll give this one a shot based on the director and star.
