Sylvester Stallone's 15 Biggest Movies - Ranked Worst To Best
15. Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over (2003)
Independent of one another, Sylvester Stallone and Robert Rodriguez have made some of the best balls-to-the-wall action movies of the last five decades. The idea of the two of them working together, then, sounds very promising indeed. Unfortunately, they chose to collaborate on the third film in Rodriguez's family friendly Spy Kids series, and the results do not make for inspiring viewing. Stallone is horrendously miscast as the villainous Toymaker, a mad scientist trapped in a video game reality of his own making which he aims to somehow escape by brainwashing the children of the world with his new game. Basically it's Tron for toddlers, only less coherent, and as it was originally shown in 3D it's full to the brim with bad CGI sticking out at the camera. The muddled plot is almost impossible to follow at times, and Stallone looks every bit as bewildered as the rest of us. Still, Spy Kids 3-D almost worth it for George Clooney's astonishingly accurate impersonation of Sly in the final scenes; and while it might not have given Stallone's career much of a shot in the arm, it did wind up his 7th biggest hit, with a global haul of $197 million.
