Tag Review: 6 Ups & 3 Downs

1. It's Got A Great Sequel Hook

Tag 2018
Warner Bros.

Tag ends with a surprisingly enticing sequel hook that could easily make Tag 2 a more diverse and exciting movie than its predecessor...if it actually happens.

The movie's middling box office performance certainly casts doubt on a follow-up ever happening, but if the movie holds well overseas, it could still happen given the film's small $28 million budget.

Tag's ending points to the most natural and obvious direction for a sequel, roping more players into the game and hinting at the possibility of team play.

That's all the hook you need for another movie, to be honest, because with the elegant simplicity of the premise and this great cast, hanging out with them for another two hours pretty much sells itself. Fingers crossed it happens.
