Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: 5 Things That Must Happen
1. Bring The Story To Space
Something that the Ninja Turtles movies have never done successfully is to put them in a new setting. Sure, they went to feudal Japan that one time, but that was garbage and let's move on.
Other dimensions and space are a big part of the characters' history. The TMNT should be brought somewhere new that none of the films in the franchise have shown previously. And the most obvious one is space.
This could solve almost all of the problems the previous films have had. The villains would be in a new setting with new resources, the finale could happen someplace other than New York, the Turtles would be the eyes for the audience in a new location, and more classic characters could be introduced. Show us what Utroms or Triceratons would look like off the pages of a comic book. Show the mandatory space bar that all sci-fi films seem to have. Most importantly, give us something fresh.
The last movie already introduced Dimension X, so the idea of going there or someplace else in space is not that far fetched. Embrace the sci-fi part of the Ninja Turtles mythos. Not every story has to be Raph and Leo arguing and moping around. Getting the characters out of New York and into space is something that absolutely needs to happen to breathe some life back into this series.
