Terminator: Dark Fate - 5 Big Questions We're Left With

The future is not set...

Terminator Dark Fate Arnold Schwarzenegger Linda Hamilton

After four years on the shelf, the Terminator franchise has made yet another return to the big screen with Terminator: Dark Fate.

A film that reunites stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton with the franchise's creator James Cameron (who serves as producer), its directed by Tim Miller and is the sixth installment in the series. However, as it disregards the third, fourth and fifth films, it is a direct sequel to 1992's groundbreaking Terminator 2: Judgment Day and is essentially considered to be the 'true' third Terminator film.

Given how most of the films post-T2 have gone down with both fans and critics, the positive response to Dark Fate may be surprising to some - but not necessarily to those who have seen it. The film accomplishes most of what is sets out to do, and in the process, sets up an exciting new story that is, for the most part, loyal to the past.

Whether it gets a sequel or not remains to be seen, but it certainly does leave us asking a number of questions.
