Terminator: Dark Fate Trailer 2 Review - 7 Ups & 2 Downs

6. The Subtle Callback To The Terminator

Every other Terminator movie since T2 has been busy trying to replicate its stunning visuals and, by the looks of Dark Fate's trailers, it will at some point be guilty of the doing the same. However, this trailer included a little callback to the other iconic Terminator film - and that was a breath of fresh air.

As the clip opens with Sarah Connor's introduction, we get a glimpse of her walking through a fiery landscape, looking a dishevelled and, dare we say it, even a little timid. As she does so, there are undertones of Brad Fiedel's softer variation of the original Terminator theme - the theme that just so happened to be used in the 1984 film when a younger, more innocent Sarah Connor trekked through flames in search of Kyle Reese after she thought she had defeated the cyborg.

In a film franchise full of in-your-face nostalgia, this was surprisingly subtle and pleasant all at once.
