12. The John Connor Twist References Salvation's Alternate Ending

In a shocking mid-point twist (if you've avoided the advertising that is), it's revealed that John Connor has been transformed into a Terminator. However, this isn't the first time the franchise has flirted with making John the big bad. A deleted, alternative ending to Terminator Salvation had John actually killed and his flesh is grafted onto Marcus' metal skeleton - instead of saving John, his friends conspired to keep his legacy alive. It all goes a bit pear-shaped, however, when new robo-John goes psycho and kills the heads of the resistance. The machines win. End credits. Now that would have created uproar.
