Terminator Genisys: Ranking The Franchise From Worst To Best
5. T2 3D: Battle Across Time
While it obviously isn't a feature-length movie, Universal Studios' long-running theme park experience is nonetheless a worthy addition to the Terminator canon, and still manages to pack more entertainment value into its 12 minutes than either Salvation or Genisys managed during their entire running time, as well as providing one of Universal's most iconic attractions.
With a budget of $24m, no expense was spared in making the short film, which is hardly surprising when you consider the cost involved in convincing James Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Robert Patrick, Edward Furlong and Linda Hamilton to sign on, not to mention the expensive special effects and 3D cameras needed to bring the project to life.
Battle Across Time delivers a welcome, if brief return to the Terminator franchise, with the action-packed short film packed full of blockbuster style, as well as the attraction itself steeping itself in the mythology of James Cameron's two features along with the added benefit of audience participation. There's a reason why T2 3D has been a mainstay of Universal's theme parks since 1996, and remains just as popular today as it did two decades ago.
