Whatever guns Connor's forces are carrying, their robo-enemies appear to be carrying to same (or at least firing the same ammunition with purple flash). Considering how much of a revelation that first shot of the Terminator stripped of its human costume in the first film, seeing these drones as the bread and butter of the trailer is a massive progression.
