The 14 Dumbest Things In Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country

13. Are You Kidding?

KERLA (on viewscreen): This is Brigadier Kerla, speaking for the High Command. There has been an incident on Praxis. However everything is under control. We have no need for assistance. Obey treaty stipulations and remain outside the Neutral Zone. This transmission ends now.
SULU: An incident!
RAND: Do we report this, sir?
SULU: Are you kidding?

Sulu speaks for the entire audience here when Janice Rand asks the most jaw-droppingly dumb question imaginable.

Consider: A Klingon moon has just exploded and the resulting subspace shock wave was so powerful it hit the Excelsior ship not just outside of Klingon space but also on the other side the Neutral Zone which buffers it. The Klingons then do a “this is fine.”

And Rand wonders if they should inform Starfleet?!

Just how dumb is she here?
