4. What's Killing Norman Osborn?

Norman The reason that Dr. Curt Conners tests his new serum on himself is because he's pressured to do so in order to save a dying Norman Osborn. We're never told exactly what his terminal malady is, but it must be something bad if he's resorting to funding genetic experiments in search of a cure. What exactly is killing Norman, and will it in any way lead to his transformation into the Green Goblin in future films?
