The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Electro's First Full Reveal Is Shocking!

spidey electro Entertainment Weekly have revealed the first official full-shot of Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon's shocking alter-ego Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The image is from their latest cover issue and can be seen in full below. It's not quite the Stan Lee and Steve Ditko version of Electro that I've known and read for decades but then again this Spider-Man series is mostly taken from a generation of comics I don't understand. Hopefully it will be less CGI than what is hinted at below (and certainly less than Rhys Ifans' Lizard) and something that doesn't look too manufactured by binary code when we see him on the big screen; amazingspidermanewcover_large The sequel to last year's Sony Pictures reboot, The Amazing Spider-Man has been filming in New York for what feels like forever but as its release date is now only ten months away, you can expect marketing to really ramp up later this summer. A teaser trailer seems almost certain to drop at Comic Con later this month, along with a couple of early posters perhaps? I pretty much hated 80% of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (and 100% hated the concept of rebooting Sam Raimi's much superior saga but I've just about gotten over that now... almost) but the best thing I can say about the series is that they are at least looking at new villains for the time-being. Of course they are heading towards Norman Osborne/Harry Osborne/Mary Jane Watson stuff but again but with Electro, there's a chance to do something cool and original here with a character that may not be familiar to the general audience as Doc Ock or The Lizard. And let's not forget that Paul Giamatti's take on Rhino is in this, along with a likely reveal of Colm Feore as The Vulture. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is due next May.
