The Amazing Spider-Man 3 Wishlist: 10 Things That Must Happen
9. Mary Jane Watson Is Introduced
One of the things that should massively help Spider-Man get back to his best is the emergence of a new girl in Peter Parker's life. He will never forget Gwen Stacy, but he has to move on, and there's no doubt that Mary Jane Watson is the true love of his life in the comics - expect her to appear in The Amazing Spider-Man 3. Mary Jane was ably portrayed by Kirsten Dunst in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, but she hasn't even been referred to yet in the current franchise. Shailene Woodley was on course to play her in the second movie, but her part was cut. Rumour has it that she wasn't considered pretty enough for the role (which is absolutely ludicrous) but, frankly, there was more than enough happening in that movie without complicating it further with a second potential love interest for Spider-Man. She will surely make her bow in the franchise in The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and fans will be pleased to see her (whoever ends up playing her), but the new actress will have quite the task on her hands when it comes to replicating the on-screen chemistry between real-life partners Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.
