The Amazing Spider-Man: 5 Common Criticisms And Why They're Wrong

1. Too Soon And Not Necessary

I admit it. I felt the exact same way. It has only been five years since the disaster that was Spider-Man 3 and another origin story could have waited. That is of course, if this movie was the exact retelling of the original Spider-Man film. Lo and behold, it wasn't! Crazy right? All the negative reviews are saying it was too soon and totally pointless. That, my friends, is the clear inability to remain unbiased. The biggest mistake people can make is to watch this movie with the original series in mind. Sure, the movies have similarities, but they're different enough to warrant a chance. And just when people are saying it's too soon, they also criticize the movie for not being similar enough. If you really don't care for another Spider-Man, don't watch it. It's that simple. Thankfully, reviews have been generally positive. What everything comes down to is that the sense of epicness, grand entrances, and one-liners have been exchanged with intimacy, real characters, and well-written dialogue. Something many superhero movies strive for, but ultimately lack. The Amazing Spider-Man is a welcome addition to the Marvel film family as it tackles a more modern version of a timeless tale. It washes the bad taste that was left by Spider-Man 3 right off and was in ways Sony's rescue to the Spider-Man series. Raimi's Spider-Man 2 is still a masterpiece on its own and remains one of my favorite films. I was skeptical at first, but this fanboy can rest easy - in all honesty, I couldn't sleep last night because of how awesome this movie was. Feel free to express your own opinions and touch upon something I haven't mentioned. I welcome it with open arms.
