The Assassination of Jesse James gets release date

5.jpgOne of my most anticipated movies of 2006 (yes that's not a typo) has finally got a release date after months and months of set backs. The A-list Western starring Brad Pitt, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford will finally see the light of day this September 21st. The movie will go up against Resident Evil: Extinction, the likely box office hit I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry and the new Coen Brothers movie No Country for Old Men... so it's chances of making an impact will be quite slim. Releasing the movie when there is already a flurry of what are to be likely popular movies, either shows a 100% self confidence in the flick or a 0% one. With all the problems the movie has supposedly had during production, I'm going with the latter. Shame really, because I'm dying for a kick ass Western. Although I'm banking on 3:10 to Yuma for being the one to watch this year.
