3. Doctor Strange
Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange is a former neurosurgeon, who became the greatest sorcerer in the Marvel universe. He holds the title Sorcerer Supreme of Earth, which has with it the responsibility to protect the earth from evil mystical forces. Although he often fights against enemies that no other hero can match, he does frequently fight in a team with other heroes. He has had a long association with the Defenders, a team of outsiders who dont normally play well with others. Most notable among the membership of the Defenders is the Hulk. Doctor Strange was also a member of the New Avengers, a team established in defiance of federal superhuman registration.
Why should we expect him? Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has confirmed that Doctor Strange will appear in some capacity as part of Phase 3 of the MCU. He has also confirmed that the studio will begin working on a Doctor Strange film after The Avengers 2 and Ant-Man. There have already been hints for Doctor Strange appearing in the MCU in the first Thor film. Odins vault was shown to contain the Orb of Agamotto. This is a powerful crystal ball used by Doctor Strange. It is quite likely that Odins vault will be raided in Thor: The Dark World in order for the main villain, Malekith the Accursed, to obtain the Casket of Ancient Winters. It is very possible that during the raid some other artefacts, like the Orb of Agamotto, may go missing and end up in the hands of other heroes or villains.
