5 New Avengers That Need A Miracle
5. Black Panther
The Black Panther is the title given to the ruler of the technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda. The Panther is entitled to eat a special heart-shaped herb that increases physical abilities to peak human levels, and senses to superhuman levels. The Panther also has access to advanced Wakandan technology and wears the sacred costume made of Vibranium. Vibranium is a rare powerful substance found only in Wakanda. Captain Americas shield is made of Vibranium. The most notable Black Panther, TChalla, has been a long standing member of the Avengers. He is also considered to be one of the smartest people in the Marvel universe. Why does he need a miracle? Hollywood is very hesitant in having heroes in big blockbuster action movies that arent American. The X-Men are known as being an international team, but sadly very little of the international flavour translated into the films. Colossus is Russian, Banshee is Irish, Moira MacTaggert is Scottish and Pyro is Australian but in the films all of these characters were portrayed as American. In the first X-Men film Storm had a Kenyan accent, but it was left out of the subsequent films. The only character that was able to keep his nationality was the demonic looking German Nightcrawler. Even in The Avengers, the Black Widow Natasha Romanoff is distinctly Russian, although there is very little about her that is portrayed as Russian. All of the characters mentioned above can be portrayed as Americans with only a minor detriment to their character. The Black Panther is distinctly African and needs to be portrayed as African. If the Marvel executives are willing to take the risk in having an African hero, then we may see the Black Panther heading into battle with Captain America.
